About the section
The Utö – Ålö Connector is the link between the Stockholm Archipelago Trail sections on Utö and Ålö, following a gravel road and passing through a military area.
The distance is 4.6 km along the gravel road between the northernmost part of the stage on Ålö and the southernmost stage on Utö.
It takes about 90 minutes to walk between the sections.
Stay on the gravel road only!

How to hike the section?
The section starts either at “Gula Villan” on Utö and heads south along the gravel road, or just south of the Ålö Bridge on Ålö and goes north along the gravel road towards Utö. The gravel road can take you all the way south to the ferry quay on Ålö and Båtshaket, or all the way north to Gruvbryggan on Utö and all the services available there.
From Ålö, you can continue on to Nåttarö, Rånö, and Nynäshamn. From Utö, you can travel on to Årsta Brygga or, in summer, continue to Ornö and Fjärdlång.
Stay on the gravel road only. It passes through an active military firing range, which is located on both sides of the road. Never leave the gravel road until you reach the next section of the Stockholm Archipelago Trail.
Dogs must be kept on a leash, and camping is not allowed along the road.
Trail markings
The gravel road is not marked, as you are never to deviate from it. When you reach the next section of the SAT, you will find the trail markings again.
Accessibility on the trail
The gravel road between Utö and Ålö is accessible to everyone.
